Applecross Innovations Inc. is an Aboriginal-owned and led telecommunications company with capabilities spanning connectivity, telecommunications and digital infrastructure.
Founded in 2014, Applecross brings telecommunications experience, regulatory standing, spectrum assets and established commercial relationships to A.I. Partnership.
Origins
Applecross was founded by Graham Andrews, an Aboriginal person and a member of Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement in northeastern Alberta.
Graham was raised in Saskatchewan, within or near the modern and historic communities of his Aboriginal ancestors.
Applecross also carries forward a family connection to communications through Graham’s non-Aboriginal grandfather, Jack D. Moffat, who co-founded Moffat Communications with his brother, Lloyd in 1949.
Telecommunications
Applecross holds licensing from the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission, which can be verified by clicking here (type the word “Applecross” under the Company Name column.
We hold a Basic International Telecommunications Services (BITS) license, which allows us to carry telecommunications traffic between Canada and any other country.
Applecross is also licensed to resell high-speed Internet services as purchased wholesale from Canada’s major carriers.
These licenses form a significant part of the A.I. Partnership’s commitment to community development in Indigenous communities.
